Max Heart Health / Beverly Hills

Preventive Cardiology for Beverly Hills & the Westside

Heart disease often develops quietly for years before it causes symptoms. Preventive cardiology is about finding that risk early and acting on it. At Max Heart Health, clinical labs, imaging and wearable data can inform a plan to address your risk.

01 / Preventive cardiology

Risk factors to discuss

  • A family history of early heart disease
  • High cholesterol, including elevated lipoprotein(a)
  • High blood pressure, prediabetes or diabetes
  • A current or past smoking history
  • Fitness and training goals
  • A desire to understand your heart health

02 / Preventive cardiology

A preventive approach

  1. A detailed history and exam, covering family history, symptoms, fitness, sleep and stress.
  2. Risk assessment informed by your history and risk factors.
  3. Targeted testing where it adds information. In-office options include EKG, echocardiogram, carotid ultrasound, stress testing and VO₂ max testing. When appropriate, Dr. Yazdi can refer you for a coronary calcium score or coronary CT angiogram at an outside imaging center.
  4. A personalized plan covering cholesterol and blood pressure targets, medications when appropriate, and specific exercise, nutrition and sleep guidance.

Prevention that uses your data

Wearable data can be reviewed alongside clinical results, with attention to trends rather than a single snapshot.

04 / Preventive cardiology

Why it matters

The major risk factors for heart attack and stroke (LDL cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and smoking) are measurable and modifiable. Earlier, sustained control generally means lower lifetime risk. The goal is a plan you understand and can keep.

Common questions

I feel fine. Do I really need a cardiologist? Many people at elevated risk feel completely well. A preventive visit helps you understand your risk before a problem appears.

My cholesterol is "borderline." Should I take a statin? It depends on your overall risk. In some people, a calcium score helps make that decision. Dr. Yazdi will walk you through the options.

Your heart health,
in focus.
